WINDTHORST W. L. (Rusty) Lindemann (83) died Sunday morning, April 18, 2010, at the House of Hope in Wichita Falls, Texas. Services will include a Vigil Service at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Windthorst, Texas, at 7 p.m.

Monday, April 19, 2010. The Funeral Mass will also be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church Tuesday, April 20,2010, at 10 a.m. with Rev. Ivor D.

Koch, officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's cemetery under the direction of Aulds Funeral Home. Mr. Lindemann was born on April 30, 1926, in Archer County to Charles and Mary (Hoff) Lindeman, who preceded him in death.

Rusty was a lifelong resident of Archer County and Windthorst, and a life time member and supporter of St. Mary's Catholic Church and parish. He proudly served in the Navy during World War II on the aircraft carrier, the USS Hornet. He married Geraldine Green on October 27, 1947, in Windthorst and eight children were born to this union. Death notices land Paris, Louisiana, to the late Freddy and Emma (Jackson) Saucer.

He was raised in Monroe, Louisiana, by his grandmother, Lueretter Bess, along with his brothers and sisters. He graduated from Richwood High School in 1951. He then joined the United States Army for three years, and went on to join the United States Air Force for 20 years. He retired in 1975 as Sgt. Andrew Saucer.

In 1958, he married Alma Bryant. They were happily married for 38 years. God richly blessed them, and entrusted to their loving care, eight children. Andrew enjoyed sports and fishing. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Alma Saucer; son, Joe Jay Taylor; daughter, Thelma Smith; grandmother, Lueretter Bess; and his granddaughter, Keysha Taylor.

He is survived by his six children, Allen Duke, Bobby, Morris, Carolyn, Catherine, and William; his sister, Shirley Benton W.L. 'Rusty' Lindemann He had a variety of professions including bulldozer operator and welder, but was mainly known as an independent oil and gas contractor, producer, and operator. He also had cattle operations and was a farmer and rancher. Rusty was active in the community, both in Archer County and Wichita Falls. He served on various boards and committees, including the Texas Alliance of Energy Producers (formerly NTOGA), the YMCA, and the United Regional Health Care Center (formerly Bethania Hospital).

He also served on various bank boards, including over 20 years on the North Central Texas Bancshares, Inc. Many organizations in the community benefitted from Rusty's generosity, including the Archer City Cemetery Foundation, and the former Medical Clinic in Holiday, Texas. The building which houses the Museum of North Texas History in Wichita Falls was also donated by Mr. Lindemann. Besides his parents, Mr.

Lindemann was preceded in death by one daughter, Mary Shannon who died on August 25, 1994. Also preceding him were five brothers: Edward, Mark, Florian, Jerome (Peppy) and Charles, and two sisters: Katherine Ostermann and Sister Charlene Lindeman, ofthe Order of St. Benedict. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 62 years, Geraldine; and seven children, Suzanne Wilde and husband, James of Plano, Donna Lynn Schwartz of Wichita Falls, James Douglas (Doug) and wife Jennifer, William Louis, Jr. (Billy) and wife Kathleen, Jeffrey Allen (Jeff) and wife Kay, Robert Ambrose (Bob) and wife Becky, and Timothy Joseph (Tim) and wife Fran, all of Archer County; seventeen grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is also survived by two brothers, Benedict (Benny) of Windthorst, and Joseph (Joe) and wife Donna of Archer City; and four sisters, Matilda Anderle of Nazareth, Texas, Ida Mae Schumacher and husband Walter, of Hereford, Sally Aichlymier of Salem, Oregon, Gertrude DeButts of Lebanon, Oregon; and a host of nieces and nephews.
